Ten Simple Ways to Feel Happier Today.
1. Think about all the great things you have in your life. Make a list and keep adding to it. Add things like your clothing, warm bed, pillows, food, fresh water and all the things you may take for granted but would find difficult to live without. .
2. Think of all the people you like and smile when you think of them. (I think of animals as well).
3. Find a quiet place in nature and sit in the stillness just listening and feeling the fresh air on your face. (If you can’t go outdoors, look at pictures of nature on your computer/tablet/books and breathe deeply as if you’re there).
4. Say the word HAPPY at least 100 times during your day either silently to yourself or out loud.
5. Stop what you’re doing regularly (every hour is good) and take three lovely, peaceful, deep breaths. Slow down and Smile.
6. Go for a 15 minute gentle walk. Breathe, observe nature. If you can’t go for a walk, do 5-15 mins of gentle stretching.
7. For one whole day, post only happy, uplifting things on your social media accounts. Only participate in conversations that bring you joy and make you feel good. It will not only help you to feel happier, but others will benefit as well.
8. Make a concerted effort to be mindful and catch your self criticism and judgement of others. Stop – replace with kind, compassionate and understanding thoughts.
9. Observe others, take a deep breath and remember all humans are wanting and trying to be happy.
10. Ask yourself – is it kind? If it’s not, replace your thoughts and actions with kind ones – you’ll definitely feel happier, one day at a time.
Genuine happiness requires practice and is not reliant on outer stimulations that you may acquire. It’s about tuning in to your inner self, higher power and feeling the stillness and joy that always lies within.
Practice daily – and Every Day Gets Better. 😊

Even a nice hot cup of tea can be a wonderful thing! Thank you again for much wisdom, Wendy! Sometimes I can feel better just knowing that I can tap into a peacefulness within myself if I choose to, even if I don’t do it at the time. It helps to have that feeling of control in choosing the chaos or peacefulness.

Tea! Yes – thank you for reminding me Sara. A nice cup of tea, sipped slowly and savoured is a lovely way to feel happy – especially if outdoors in the garden! Yes it’s such a wonderful thing to know we have choices isn’t it and like you say, even if we don’t do it at the time, or, practice choosing peace but it doesn’t work right then, over time, we get better at bringing peace and opting out of chao. Thank you Sara. 😊💛
