A whole year of Happiness!
Is that even possible?
The good new is YES – the other good news is – it’s a daily choice YOU make.
Warning! Those expecting someone else or something ‘out there’ to provide their happiness may find this to be bad news, which in turn, will bring more unhappiness. 😢
Naturally built into every human, God/ Universe/Source/Higher Power etc has provided us with the amazing ability and privilege to choose. How incredible is that! Your brain and your thoughts are yours and nothing and no-one can change that unless you give your ok for that to happen but even then, you’re still doing it.
Even if you visit a Hypnotherapist (or similar practitioner) who’s job it is to help you have improved mental health, causing ongoing positive effects in your body (hopefully), they can’t change your brain. All they do is make suggestions while you’re in a deeply relaxed state but it’s you who actually changes your brain and your habits.
When you’re in a deeply relaxed state, slowing your breathing and allowing the silence to unfold, you are more deeply connected to your source and when you’re ‘in sync’ with the divine universal energy, ‘miracles’ happen and you can’t help but feel happy.
This is how to achieve happiness every day!
Spend all day, every day, finding things to be happy about and grateful for and you’ll soon change your brain’s habit of unhappiness, fear and worry. Consciously, on purpose, look for everything that brings you even a glimmer of joy and happiness. It takes practice but you can do it! Build on this daily and you become a master of happiness!
Did you eat food today and have access to drinking water? ✔️ = Gratitude = Happiness.
Do you have shelter, as in some sort of home? ✔️ = Gratitude = Happiness.
Do you have clothing? ✔️ = Gratitude = Happiness.
Do you have a family member or a friend who cares about you? ✔️ = Gratitude = Happiness.
You get the picture – when you take the time each day to truly focus on ALL the good that surrounds you, it’s hard to be unhappy – unless you choose to be. People often believe happiness only presents itself as an ecstatic state of euphoria, but happiness is really a calm contentment of acceptance, joy and appreciation of what is.
When those fears and worries arise (and they do and will continue to while you’re human) by practicing keeping your focus on gratitude and all your blessings, you’ll quickly kick fear out and choose to believe everything is working out for you which means – calm happiness. And at truly sad times, such as the death of loved ones etc, focus on remaining calm and in time you’ll be more able to simply be grateful you had them in your life. The grief and loss you feel will give way to remembering them with joy, minus the deep sadness.
I love Deepak Chopra’s words of wisdom, “this is not telling me the truth, it is only making me afraid.” When the fears and worries come, these are great words to remember. Most of our fears are unfounded, as in, they never happen but we’ve spent all that time being unhappy simply because we were fretting over imagined scenarios. He also says “fear doesn’t speak the truth, it only speaks fear!”
“There is no greater illusion than fear. Whoever can see through all fear will always be safe”. The Tao Te Ching (loc 710)
So if we understand that happiness is a choice we are bestowed with, already present at birth, and we understand that although happiness may evade us at times as we move through our physical life journey, then we understand that we have the ability to come back to that perfect happy energy whenever we choose.
When we cease being ruled by fear and worry, inner peace and happiness prevails and Every Day Gets Better. 😀❤️
With thanks to Wonderful Quotes for the image and of course to dear Thich Nhat Hahn. ❤️

Thank you, Wendy, words we all need to hear and remember! I’ve been hearing accounts on YouTube about near-death experiences, and they often say the same thing about fear and the choice to not go in that direction. Thanks again for the reminder.

Yes our lives would be happier indeed if we always remembered we have a choice to think, feel and act in whichever way we consciously choose. 😀❤️
