It’s easy to be enthusiastic when things are going according to plan but what about when obstacles keep occurring and your enthusiasm wanes. How do you stay positively focused on what you want?
Enthusiasm can be tricky to maintain especially when you are tired or when you have so much to do you and you may feel overwhelmed.
Here are some of the ways I’ve found that help me to keep my enthusiasm and passion present. Works for me most of the time and even when I lose track, these techniques bring me back to what I want pretty quickly.
- Go for a brisk walk and clear your head.
- Listen to positive, uplifting music.
- Visualise yourself doing whatever it is you are wanting to do.
- If it’s something tangible, visit it and look at it often and see yourself there.
- If it’s a job/career you are wanting, spend time in places where others are doing that work.
- Rest well and quietly meditate and put your focus on what you are wanting.
- Have a powerful, positive phrase you repeat when you are feeling the worries descend.
- Try EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique).
- Temporarily get away from the scene of your concerns and worries – as in, go for a walk!
- Stop several times a day to breathe deeply and relax your body..
- Eat well and nourish your body and mind with healthy, vital foods.
And above all, keep thinking about what it is that you are wanting and stay away from focusing on what you don’t want!
There is one thing which gives radiance to everything. It is the idea of something around the corner. G.K. Chesterton.
If you take the time, daily, to observe what you are thinking about, you will notice a pattern. Changing your focus is the most challenging “work” you will ever do but don’t do it – at your peril!
It is a far better and happier way to live your life as the master of your thinking rather than a victim of your circumstances.
It’s up to you – do the work and make Every Day Get Better!
