While I’m not going to discuss Nutrition in general, as I’m not a qualified Dietician or Nutritionist – plus, there are obviously so many conflicting views on what’s the best nutrition plan to follow, I will share research from trusted sources.
Despite what latest diet or food craze is being touted by celebs and/or influencers, countless years of research show that a well balanced diet with high nutrient content essential for our health and well-being, is wise to follow. Personally, I prefer a vibrantly healthy organic, vegan/plant based lifestyle and I’m extremely happy with my choices and I enjoy good health free from colds, flu and viruses of all/any kind. (and I’m not vaccinated against any of the things ‘out there’, but that’s just my personal choice).
I’m not a fan of fast foods or processed foods and I keep my sugar intake low.
It makes sense to choose foods grown in rich, organic soils without added synthetic chemicals and toxic substances. As my dear Mum used to say ‘if it kills snails and bugs, what does it do to us humans who consume the vegetables that have been treated with the toxic chemicals?’ My Mum was ahead of her time and always had a completely non toxic, chemical free, flourishing healthy veggie garden all her life. What is now called ‘organic’ – she called ‘common sense’.
If you’d like some interesting reading on how toxic chemicals first made their way into our foods look for Rachel Carson’s book ‘Silent Spring’. It’s still one of the most informative books on how toxic chemicals affect the food chain, and us.
