What happens when you wake up in the morning?
What are your first thoughts?
Do you wake up feeling eager and enthused about the day that lies ahead, or do you wake up and think of all the things you don’t like and all the problems, real or imagined, your new day brings.
Do you wake up and immediately feel appreciation for all the things (and people) surrounding you or do you start thinking about what you think is wrong in your world?
Do you wake and immediately start thinking of your body and what may be ailing, hurting and what you may believe is wrong with your body? Or do you wake and think of all the wonderful parts of your body that serve you so well as you go through your day?
Here’s a few tips to help you feel good right throughout your day.
😀 As soon as you wake up, say out loud or to yourself, ‘wow, I woke up and this is a really good day!’ At first you may kind of mumble it and not feel too enthused about it, but say it every day and you’ll soon believe it and start to feel joyful and eager for your experiences during your brand new day.
😀 Next, take note of everything around you. The comfy bed you rested your body in, your room that protected you from the weather and kept you warm or cool, whichever season you’re experiencing in your part of the world. Your bathroom with hot and cold running water and a toilet that simply and effectively takes care of your body’s waste. It’s already a good day if you have those things to make your life more comfortable!
😀 Next – lie flat on your back and take three long, slow, deep breaths and connect with your inner being, your higher power, God, the universe, Buddha, your connection to your source, whatever is meaningful for you. Give sincere thanks for this perfect guidance system and know that whenever you choose to slow your breathing and ‘tune in’, that source of perfect guidance is always there for you and with you.
😀 Now as you gently rise from your bed and place your feet on the floor, say to yourself, ‘this is a great day! Today, as I go through all the experiences my day will bring, I will look for all the reasons to feel good and I will find them’.
😀 As you do these practices every day, you will feel happier and more enthused about your life and the world around you. You’ll see all the good, rather than what you perceive as bad and you’ll come to know and understand that whatever thoughts you predominantly put your focus on is what grows. Consciously and intentionally look for all the good, be appreciative for it and eagerly enthused about all the good to come and Every Day Gets Better! 😀❤️
