Who are you? Isn’t this an interesting question. So how do you answer?
Most people would reply by telling you their name and something about themselves. As in – ‘I’m Wendy, I’m 72 years of age and I live near the beach with my husband and our dog and cat family’.
But that’s not who I am – that’s just a bit of an example of how I live my physical life. It has little (or nothing) to do with who I really am.
I am a powerful source of energy! And so are you.
I am not simply a body, a mind or my emotions – they’re just stuff I use to remain in this physical world and navigate it’s often tricky pathways.
Spiritual success coach Bob Proctor states, “I am a spiritual being living in a human body, not a human being with a spirit’. We are not human beings having a spiritual experience, we are spiritual beings having a human experience.
When we understand that we are pure energy, then we can learn to experience our human-ness with more peace and joy. We can become calm observers of how we are living and become practiced at making choices that support us on our journey, with more ease.
So how do we find this inner peace and learn to live with a deeper understanding of who we are. How do we learn to create a life we truly enjoy?
People throughout the ages have found many methods of reaching our ‘higher selves’ but one timeless practice that has been prevalent for eons is Meditation.
One of my favourite quotes is from Blaise Pascal. ‘All men’s miseries derive from not being able to sit quietly in a room alone’. Or ‘all of humanity’s problems stem from man’s inability to sit quietly in a room alone’.
I’ve no idea who said this but it’s remained a favourite with me for around fourty years. It’s said to be an old Zen quote. ‘You should sit in meditation for 20 minutes each day, unless you’re too busy – then you need an hour”.
Note: see Menu under Mindfulness, Meditation and QiGong for helpful quiet practices.
We can become incredibly caught up in the things of the physical world and when you step back, step out of your daily worldly experiences and realise you have great power within you to create a peaceful, loving and happy life then Every Day Gets Better. 😀❤️
With thanks to whoever did this graphic. I can’t find a name to thank personally. ❤️
