Who do you support?
Do you support the victim or the perpetrator?
When someone is harmed or killed, do you cheer for the perpetrator or grieve for the victim?
Who (and what) do you stand for?
Personally, I stand for KINDNESS!
I stand for nature in all its forms – human, animals and our earth and in fact, I stand for the entire Universe!
But, I will ALWAYS stand up for the victims first and foremost. Yes, the perpetrators are disturbed, usually mentally and/or physically ill beings and quite often victims of abuse themselves, but although I notice their pain and severe dysfunction and I care that they are part of an extremely faulty parenting and societal system, my heart lies primarily with the victims.
The innocents – which is why I practice a plant based vegan diet and lifestyle.
I’m not wanting to be judgemental here, or hurt the feelings of others, but the fact is that animals are always the victims and humans are the perpetrators, no matter how we may try to colour it otherwise. No animal used for human consumption, clothing, footwear etc or even worse, pleasure, is ever willing to be used, abused and killed.
Some are ‘fortunate’ enough to roam freely in green pastures, some are provided with shelter against the elements, some are called fancy names like ‘organic’ and ‘free range’ (as if this somehow justifies their eventual slaughter) but all tremble with absolute fear when they are loaded on to the trucks headed for the abattoirs. There is no kind way to kill an animal, unless it’s by euthanasia when necessary, with the calm, loving and respectful attendance of a kindly, experienced Vet and hopefully the family who have loved and cared for the animal being euthanised.
Animals that humans use are NEVER killed kindly. The slaughter is abhorrent and if you need proof, go visit an abattoir. If you can’t visit an abattoir, watch a video – I’ll bet you couldn’t. When people really learn the truth, only those with the coldest hearts would not feel utter despair and sadness for the victims of such brutal cruelty.
Animals are innocent victims. Unless disrupted and trained otherwise by humans, animals live their lives peacefully and calmly in sync with nature. Some will argue that because in their natural habitat some animals kill others it’s ok for us humans to kill them. But the big difference is animals kill only to survive and they only take what they need. Humans on the other hand, eat and use way more than what is needed for survival and good health and in many cases, it’s pure gluttony.
Science has now proven that a meat and dairy free diet is way healthier, promotes longevity and is better for our earth. There’s even been studies to suggest that a plant based animal free diet may help people feel calmer and happier. I know I feel happier and more at peace knowing I’m not part of being a perpetrator of slaughter and violence against innocent victims and I’m not putting those poor dead bodies in my body!
There are many humans I truly love and would describe as intelligent, kind and caring people, but I can’t for the life of me fully understand why they continue to show kindness towards other humans but not for the animal kingdom. Some of these people even have domestic ‘pets’ such as dogs and cats who they love and care for with kindness – but they still eat meat and dairy, wear leather and other animal by-products and choose to turn a blind eye to the industries making money from inflicting pain and suffering on innocent animals.
The old conditioning of bygone eras is over. We now know animal products are detrimental for our health and the environment, plus we know that humans can not only live long and healthy lives on a plant based vegan diet, but most actually flourish! Ask the vegan body builders – there’s plenty of them on YouTube! I say ‘most’ because just like carnivores, some vegans eat a lot of junk food and over time, will not remain healthy. Plus there are some gorgeous non animal, plant derived shoes, clothes, handbags and all sorts of re-cycled vegan friendly goods to satisfy even the most ardent of shoppers.
I believe most humans are basically good people, but I think it’s time they think a bit deeper, learn more about where their food etc comes from and how it was treated before it arrives in the shops – and make kinder choices, in line with their basic goodness.
I don’t normally do raves on veganism and even writing something like this isn’t my usual style and I don’t go to rallies, activism events etc. I believe they have their place but sadly, there are quite a lot of angry people out there, whether vegan or not and I prefer to respect others choices (even though I may not agree with them) and educate in a quieter manner. I definitely don’t agree with disrupting other peoples’ lives as some over zealous protestors do. Anger is known to put people off and can reinforce the ‘another silly vegan’ slander we see so often.
As I mentioned earlier, I believe in kindness and compassion and I choose to live my life according to those values, but after 40+ years of personally choosing a kinder lifestyle, I think it’s about time I spoke out (for the animals) a little more.

I wish, with all my heart, that others will embrace more kindness and compassion so Every Day Gets Better – for all the beings of our earth. 😀❤️

A salutary posting. Wonderfully written and beautifully articulated.
From a “must read” book from my library, “The World Peace Diet” by Will Tuttle, two words he used to describe the process of commodifying animals, whether it’s to eat, to wear or to profit from them. Every single animal used in that way has been “imprisoned” and “brutalised”. Who wants to imprison or brutalise anyone?

Two actions that all caring humans would prefer to stay well away from – imprisonment and brutality. And yet…………😢
